The strongest Go players from the Gooi and Vecht region and beyond meet each other during the Blikkenstein Go tournament. The players will compete against each other in six rounds of one hour each.
Go is an East Asian board game for two players. It was invented around the year 2000 BC and is still played in an almost unchanged form. Millions of practitioners in the country of origin China and the neighboring countries of Korea and Japan play the game. But also here in the Netherlands, it is a popular board game. The tournament for the Blikkensteintrofee, which is taking place for the sixth time this year, is particularly popular with Go players because of its unique location.
