Canal tour fortified Naarden with Vestingvaart

The best way to see fortified town Naarden is from the water. Hop on board at Vestingvaart and sail along through the fortified moats of the star-shaped town.

During the sailing season (April-October), you can board four times a day with a skipper who will tell you all about the beautiful town and its history. During the cruise of about an hour, you will sail through and along the city walls, see the surrounding nature reserve and Fort Ronduit.

Book your tickets by mail or phone up to one hour in advance. Payment on collection at the counter in visitor centre Yellow Shed.
Less than an hour in advance? The tickets still available are then physically on sale at the Yellow Pilot counter.

Handy to know

• Boarding point is at the stone steps in the Nieuwe Haven (opposite house number 27a, next to the Turfloods)
• To board, you need to go down a stone staircase of several steps.
• On board, you sit on wooden benches.
• Food and/or drink on board is not allowed.
• The boat is not covered, so bring an umbrella if necessary in rainy weather.
• Within Naarden-Vesting, Vestingvaart is listed on the yellow-and-black signposts.
