TOP Maarsseveense Plassen

TOP Maarsseveense Plassen is the ideal starting point for your visit to the Vecht region. Several beautiful cycling and walking routes start at this TOP through an area full of rich history and beautiful nature. The Vecht region is bisected by the Vecht, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Netherlands, famous for its many 17th and 18th-century country estates.

Recreation area Maarsseveense Plassen
The Maarsseveense Plassen is a recreational area in Maarsseveen where you can enjoy recreation in or around the lakes. From the TOP Maarsseveense Plassen, you can walk, cycle or rollerblade and then take a dip in the very spacious Strandbad. Do you prefer to fish, canoe, or dive? That is also possible in Strandbad! Next to the entrance to the beach, you will find the Pannekoekenbakker. 

Please note: after the exit N230 Maarsseveen/Maarsseveense Plassen, navigation systems will direct you to the Herenweg, but you have to cross the intersection to enter the parking lot of the Maarsseveense Plassen recreation center.

Parking options
The Maarsseveense Plassen car park has 2,500 parking spaces.

By public transport
From Utrecht Central Station: take bus 6 in the direction of Overvecht, change to bus 35 at the Zamenhofdreef stop, your final stop is Maarsseveense Plassen. Or take city bus 1 in the direction of Overvecht, there you change to bus 35, your final stop is Maarsseveense Plassen.

From Maarssen station: take bus 34 or 36 and then change to bus 35 at the Dr. Plesmanlaan. Your final stop is Maarsseveense Plassen.

Charging point for electric bicycles
Charging e-bikes is possible at Café-Restaurant Oud Zuid in Loenen aan de Vecht and Bistro Belle in Oud Zuilen.

What is a TOP?
You will find various TOPs, Tourist Transfer Points, spread throughout Gooi & Vecht. Here you can park for free, there is (usually) catering for a snack or drink, and from this point you can easily pick up the cycling and walking routes.
