Fairy tale castle & gardens
The Muiderslot is possibly the most impressive and best-preserved castle of The Netherlands. Given its drawbridge, five towers, moat, and battlements, it will probably come as no surprise that the castle and grounds have been used in several TV shows set in the Middle Ages. Many of the castle's chambers have been restored to reflect the splendor that its owners enjoyed during the Dutch Golden Age.
Medieval family fun
A free audio tour (available in 9 languages) of the castle introducing visitors to the castle’s rich history, famous residents, and life on a castle is included in the entrance fee. Several walking routes are laid out around the grounds and the castle regularly organizes special activities for all visitors, including guided tours and workshops. Also lookout for the falconer and his birds of prey, on the grounds between April and the end of October.
